Jiggy
Jiggies are the main collectible item throughout the Banjo-Kazooie series. They first appear in Banjo-Kazooie and return in every other game since.
Jiggies are golden puzzle pieces located throughout the worlds. They are hidden, guarded by some enemy, boss and even some challenge or challenge in which they can be acquired although there are also times when they can be easily obtained by helping another character who needs help.
History
Banjo-Kazooie series
Banjo-Kazooie
In Banjo-Kazooie, the Jigsaw Pictures each correspond to a world in Gruntilda's Lair, though each of them are missing at least Jiggy, making the worlds inaccessible until Banjo returns the puzzle pieces. As Banjo and Kazooie progress into their journey, the Jigsaw Pictures require increasingly more Jiggies. The first Jiggy is inside Gruntilda's Lair, on a hill left of the entrance. Banjo and Kazooie are required to have the first Jiggy to access Mumbo's Mountain.
The purpose of Jiggies in Banjo-Kazooie is similar to the Power Stars of Super Mario 64, the template game for Banjo-Kazooie and several other 3D platforming titles, in that Jiggies are the main collectible items and are required for progression.
Banjo-Tooie
In Banjo-Tooie, after collecting a certain number of Jiggies, Banjo and Kazooie can enter Jiggywiggy's Temple, where the duo must solve a moving picture game titled Jiggywiggy's Challenge by putting all of the puzzle pieces in place before time runs out. Once complete, Jiggywiggy's Disciple unlocks the next world.
Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, the worlds are unlocked by Jiggywikki's Disciple like in Banjo-Tooie, if Banjo and Kazooie but solving a puzzle is no longer necessary.
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Jiggies are taken from Jig-O-Vends to the Jiggy Bank in the Central Plaza of Showdown Town, the hub location, to unlock more worlds. Like in previous games, more Jiggies are needed to unlock later worlds.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing with Banjo-Kazooie
In Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing with Banjo-Kazooie, Jiggies are not collectible items, but Banjo and Kazooie's All-Star Move, Jiggy Rain, involves Kazooie waving Mumbo's Wrench to launch waves of Jiggies at other racers.
